On Mondays Gerri Foster in the kitchen and Wes Baugher doing deliveries, Tuesdays Tammy and Dave Palmer in the kitchen and Charlie and Susan Berry doing deliveries, Wednesdays Jody Eyler and Marsha Ridenour in the kitchen and Ricky and Estella Motley doing deliveries, Thursday’s Sherry Dixon and Kim Cleaver in the kitchen and Marsha Ridenour doing deliveries and on Friday’s Kaye Isanogle and Pam Robbins in the kitchen and Linda Lafianza doing deliveries. I just want to give a great big shout out and thank you to these wonderful volunteers. You are so appreciated.
I would like to take this time to remind everyone that the Thurmont Senior Center is independent from Frederick County, we are not county funded. We operate on funds we receive as donations or grants we are awarded. We have our monthly fundraiser at Roy Roger’s, as well as our bingo that all of the money we collect goes directly to the needs of the center. So, as you are shopping for your families and thinking of where you could donate before the end of the year remember we are a 501C 3 organization and we would greatly appreciate any donation you may be able to share. We also take donations of soda, chips, bottles of water and prepackaged snacks.
We would love for you to join us for Yoga on Monday’s and Zumba on Friday’s they are $5.00 a class or 8 classes for $24.00 We also offer a free balance and strength exercise session daily, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday beginning at 11:00-11:45. We play Pinochle on Tuesday at 1:00, We have Bunko on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 1:00 and Farkle on the 4th Thursday at 1:00. Thursday’s at 12:30 we are playing dominoes We also play Bingo every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month, if we have a 5th Wednesday, we have a special Bingo. It is always a fun time full of laughter and special homemade treats for halftime. I can’t forget to mention our coffee time on Tuesday’s at 10:00 am. Truthfully, we always coffee at the center and we are told it is the best, so come in and have a cup with us. Friday’s, we have Poker and 500.
Come out and have a delicious lunch with us. They are served every day at 12:00. The meals are $6.00 each. We would love to share a meal with you. Please call the day before to sign up for lunch. Menus are at the center and online on Facebook and our website thurmontseniorcenter.org
As a reminder with winter weather setting in, if Frederick County Public Schools are close the Thurmont Senior Center is Closed. If there is a two-hour school delay, we open on time.
We care about your health, with Covid, Flu and Cold season upon us, if you have any flu like symptoms or are not feeling well, please stay home. We have some covid tests at the center if you need one. We want to keep everyone as healthy as we can
Don’t forget the Thurmont Senior Center is available to rent for different activities such as a baby shower, a birthday party or a bridal shower.
