July Senior Moments
By Kristen Bodmer
I neglected to congratulate all of the 2025 graduates in my last Senior moments. We are all so proud of your accomplishments. Reach for the stars.
Summer is here. If you need to beat the heat, come in for a visit. You will be happy you did. We always welcome visitors. You will find a friendly atmosphere you won’t want to leave.
If you are walking by the center on the ledge of the front of the building you will see a caterpillar of rocks. We would love for you to add to our rock caterpillar to see how much he can grow.
We had the joy of having several Catoctin High School students and their advisor Rachel Misner come on the last day of school to help us out with moving boxes, spending time with the seniors, talkin, laughing and putting a puzzle together. They then joined with Ruth’s exercise class and had a great workout. We are so thankful for the time they spent with us. We can’t wait until next year.
We had a busy June. Two Bingo’s with lots of people and lots of homemade treats at halftime. We had a very successful Bake Sale at Roy Rogers. Nancy and Carol go all out for the bake sales. You don’t want to miss next months, July 10, 2025. We enjoyed lots of fun activities like exercise and card games. A lot of laughter and fun times were had.
July is full of activities. Take the opportunity to take a look the calendar of events we have scheduled. You can find our calendar on the website https://thurmontseniorcenter.org/ on Facebook or come into the center and ask for one. We will happily get you one.

I have presented the Senior Center Board of Directors with my resignation. I am “retiring” to spend more time with my family especially my 8 grandchildren. Looking for an individual who is outgoing, energetic, a multi tasker and senior friendly. Deadline for Application July 15,2025 drop your resume off or fill out an application at the center.
As always if you have questions don’t hesitate to call us at 301-271-7911.
