March Senior Moments

Well, we might be finished with winter but I am not sure winter is finished with us. I hope everyone is staying safe and warm. Stop into the Thurmont Senior Center for some fun and laughter and maybe a cup of coffee or tea. We look forward to seeing you. We are a place to come have a great lunch and find laughter and friendship. You are never too old to make new friends and learn new things.
March is full of activities. Don’t forget we Spring forward on the 10th of March, so it will be sunny longer during the day. Saint Patrick’s Day is on March 17th, don’t forget to wear green or you might just get pinched. Easter falls on the last day of March this year.
We would love for you to join us for a free balance and strength exercise session daily, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday beginning at 11:00-11:45. We play Pinochle on Tuesday at 1:00, We have Bunko on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 1:00 and Farkle on the 4th Thursday at 1:00. Thursday’s at 12:30 we are playing dominoes We also play Bingo every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month, if we have a 5th Wednesday, we have a special Bingo. It is always a fun time full of laughter and special homemade treats for halftime. I can’t forget to mention coffee we are told it is the best, so come in and have a cup with us. Friday’s, we have Zumba we also offer Poker and 500.
As a reminder with all of the winter weather we have had, if Frederick County Public Schools are closed the Thurmont Senior Center is Closed. No lunches will be served if we are closed. If there is a two-hour school delay, we open on time.
Don’t forget the Thurmont Senior Center is available to rent for different activities such as a baby shower, a birthday party or a bridal shower.
