Thank you to the Rocky Ridge Fire Company Auxiliary for a delicious meal. Two successful Bingos, many card and dice games played and lots of food shared. We enjoyed our monthly birthday party with some karaoke and sing along, I hope you will come out in July when we do it again.
We are excited to share that our very own Nancy Rice has been selected into the Senior Center Hall of Fame. We are so proud of Nancy and are so grateful to have her as part of the Thurmont Senior Center.
We will be having our monthly fundraiser at Roy Roger’s on July 13th, 2023 from 5 -8 pm. Come out and see us and get some delicious food as well as our phenomenal goodies. We would like to say a special THANK YOU to Roy Rogers for being so supportive of our monthly bake sale. We have been able to raise quite a bit of money from this fundraiser and we couldn’t do it without them.
We would love for you to join us for Yoga on Monday’s and Zumba on Friday’s they are $5.00 a class or 8 classes for $24.00 We also offer a free balance and strength exercise session daily, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday beginning at 11:00-11:45. We play Pinochle on Tuesday at 1:00, We have Bunko on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 1:00 and Farkle on the 4th Thursday at 1:00. Thursday’s at 12:30 we are playing dominoes We also play Bingo every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month, if we have a 5th Wednesday, we have a special Bingo. It is always a fun time full of laughter and special homemade treats for halftime. Of course, if you know me, I can’t forget to mention our coffee time on Tuesday’s at 10:00 am. Honestly it is coffee time any time the center is open so come in and have a cup with me. Friday’s, we have Poker and 500.
The Thurmont Senior Center will again have a Knitting and Crocheting Group. They meet on the 2nd Tuesday of the Month at 11:00. They will be meeting 11th at 11:00. They make New Born Baby Hats to give to the hospital. We have a book here at the center that has all kinds of different patterns for hats and other baby items. All are welcome you do not need to be a senior citizen to join this group.
Remember we have delicious lunches served every day at 12:00. The meals are $6.00 each. We would love to share a meal with you. Please call the day before to sign up for lunch. Menus are at the center and online on Facebook and our website thurmontseniorcenter.org
The Thurmont Senior Center is available to rent for different activities as well. Like perhaps a baby shower, a birthday party or a bridal shower.
