The month of April was a month filled with activities. We had 2 great Bingo’s; we had a fun monthly birthday party, lots of laughter happened and fun games were played.
Special event at Thorpewood. In conjunction with the Thurmont Library on May 2nd they are having Seniors at Thorpewood. Enjoy a morning of nature and connectedness and restoration at Thorpewood. The fun begins at 10 a.m for more information contact us here at the center or contact the Thurmont Library.
We have the date for our Annual Birthday Party which will be held at the Rocky Ridge Fire Hall. You can stop by the center to sign up. The cost this year for seniors that are members of the Thurmont Senior Center is $12.00, if you want to bring a guest the guest price is $18.00. Our musical guest this year is the Country Ramblers. You must be a member of the Thurmont Senior Center to get the senior price. It is a western theme so get your cowboy boots ready for a rootin`, tootin` good time. Call the center for details. You do need to sign up and pay by June 2, 2023
This month we have our, exercise classes, Dominoes, Pinochle, Poker, 500, Bunko and Farkle games, special music, coffee, treats and of course Bingo games. Make sure to pick up a calendar because there is always something fun happening here at the Thurmont Senior Center. Don’t forget it is free to join the center. If by chance you have extra bottled water or soda in cans that you would like to donate to the center, we could really use them for BINGO.
We would love for you to join us for Yoga on Monday’s and Zumba on Friday’s they are $5.00 a class or 8 classes for $24.00 We also offer a free balance and strength exercise session daily, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday beginning at 11:00-11:45. We play Pinochle on Tuesday at 1:00 We have Bunko on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 1:00 and Farkle on the 4th Thursday at 1:00. Thursday’s at 12:30 we are playing dominoes We also play Bingo every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month, if we have a 5th Wednesday, we have a special Bingo. It is always a fun time full of laughter and special homemade treats for halftime. Healthy Eating group is meeting Tuesday’s at 10 am. Of course, we can’t forget to mention our coffee time on Tuesday’s at 10:00 am. Friday’s we have Poker and 500.
Remember we have delicious lunches served every day at 12:00, the meals are $6.00 each. We would love to share a meal with you. Please call the day before to sign up for lunch. Menus are at the center and online on Facebook and our website thurmontseniorcenter.org.
The Thurmont Senior Center is available to rent for different activities as well. Like perhaps a baby shower, a birthday party or a bridal shower. If you would like to share any pictures you have of events held at the Senior Center, I would love to share them with others.
