We had a great month of April. We had a great turn out for Bingo and wanted to say a special thank you to everyone for their donations to the food bank. We took 5 boxes of non-perishables and personal hygiene products. We also raise $ 157.20 from the special bingo to donate to the Food Bank as well.
We have started Yoga on Monday mornings at 9:30 with Jon Phebus. This is a wonderful way to get your body moving even if you can only do it from a chair.
I would like to invite you to coffee on Tuesdays at 10; this is a time for us to get to know one another. We are also having tea on Thursday’s at 2:00. We would love for you to come by for a cuppa and a visit
Bunko or Farkle anyone?? We have Bunko on Thursday May 12th at 1:00 and Farkle Thursday May 26th at 1:00 please call the center to sign up.
We will be having our monthly fundraiser at Roy Roger’s on May 12th, 2022 from 5 -8 pm. Come out and see us and get some delicious goodies.
We will be having our monthly birthday party on May 19th with cake and ice cream and special music by Patty and Brent Progecene.
We are having Painting with Nancy Rice May 23rd at 1:00 until 3:00. We will be painting on canvas. The price is to be announced once we have the materials.
Did I mention we are always looking for volunteers here at the center? We can always use help serving lunch, working Bingo or other opportunities.
The Thurmont Senior Center is available to rent for different activities as well. Like perhaps a baby shower, a birthday party or a bridal shower.
Great News!! The library will be coming back to visit us in May. We don’t have a date yet but they will definitely be coming in May. So, if you need a library card or want to see what exciting things the library has to offer stay tuned…
Remember we have delicious lunches served every day at 12:00. Starting in May, we will now be getting meals from several locations in Thurmont. We would like to thank Kountry Kitchen, Rocky’s and Fratellis for partnering with us as well as a big thank you to Mountain Gate for all of their support throughout the years. The meals are $6.00 each. We would love to share a meal with you. Please call the day before to sign up for lunch. Menus are at the center and online on Facebook and our website.
